This 1960's Carbon arc / heat lamp is yet another stand out design from the Provincial Incandescent Fittings Co. of Failsworth Manchester. Pifco as it is commonly known.
The lamp has been completely stripped down into its constituent parts and the aluminium reflector is part way through a comprehensive buffing process.

The internal surface of the reflector has undergone a careful and methodical five stage buffing process to achieve a mirror finish.

The cast iron base has been taken back to it's bare state and protected with Nyalic against corrosion. A hairline crack in the cast base can be seen. This does not affect the operation of the lamp at all and is covered by the lifetime guarantee of this product.
